Plant and maintenance

Industrial electricians for plant, factory and maintenance work

When a line goes down, the cost isn't the electrician. We supply industrial sparkies who can walk into a plant, read the schematic and get the machine running again.

Short answer

Grid Force Hire supplies A-Grade industrial electricians across Victoria for manufacturing plant, factory maintenance, planned shutdowns and breakdown response, on a casual hourly basis. Crews cover machine wiring, motor control, switchboards, instrumentation and fault finding, with tickets and inductions verified before deployment.

The work

What hosts ask us for on industrial sites

Planned maintenance and shutdowns

Extra crew for a shutdown window, working to a scoped task list with isolation and permit procedures followed to the letter.

Breakdown and fault finding

Motor control centres, VSDs, starters, sensors and control circuits — tracing a fault back through the schematic rather than swapping parts.

Machine installs and relocations

Power to new plant, control wiring, cable tray and containment, terminations and pre-start testing.

Site upgrades

Switchboard replacement, submain upgrades, lighting and power reticulation through operating factories and warehouses.

Matched to your site

Tickets and clearances this work usually needs

This is what we're typically asked for on this kind of site — it isn't a fixed list. What your site needs is whatever you tell us on the request, and that's what we match to. Held is not the same as current, so we check the dates too.

  • Victorian A-Grade Electrician's Licence (Energy Safe Victoria)
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Low Voltage Rescue and CPR
  • Elevated Work Platform and working at heights
  • Confined space entry where the plant requires it
  • Hazardous areas (EEHA) for classified zones
  • HV switching competency where the plant has its own high-voltage supply

What's different about crewing this sector

Shutdowns are the sharpest test of a labour-hire provider: the crew has to be right on the first morning, because there isn't a second one. We confirm each electrician's tickets and experience against the scope before the shutdown, not on the day.

For plants with classified zones, tell us at the request stage. Hazardous-area competency is recorded against the electrician and matched specifically — it isn't something to discover on site.

Breakdown work often runs past the rostered finish. Overtime rates are agreed in the quote up front, so the invoice reflects what was negotiated, not what was assumed.

Questions

Industrial hire, answered

Can you supply a crew for a planned shutdown?
Yes. Give us the dates, the crew size and the tickets the scope needs, and we'll confirm the crew before the shutdown starts. Shutdown work is quoted with its shift times and any negotiated overtime rates agreed in advance.
Do your electricians have hazardous-area (EEHA) competency?
Some do, and it's recorded against them with its expiry. Tell us the zone classification in your request and we'll only match electricians whose EEHA competency is current.
How do you handle breakdowns outside normal hours?
Shift times are set on the job, and out-of-hours and overtime rates are agreed in the quote. If the work runs long, the hours are signed off on site by your supervisor the same as any other day.
Can an electrician work across two of our sites?
Yes, if the sites are covered by the same job and inductions. Tell us at the request stage so travel and site access are factored into the quote rather than argued about later.

Need industrial electricians?

Tell us the site, the tickets and the start date. We'll come back with a written quote — rate per electrician, all-inclusive, no lock-in.
