What actually causes delay
- Site inductions with fixed schedules — if inductions run Tuesdays, nobody starts on a Monday
- Security clearances and police checks — held by the person and impossible to accelerate
- Site medicals and drug and alcohol testing — common on rail, energy and infrastructure
- Narrow ticket requirements — EEHA, HV competency and rail inductions shrink the pool sharply
- Regional locations — travel and accommodation to arrange
- Vague requests — 'a couple of sparkies next week' takes longer to fill than a specific one
Almost none of that list is about the availability of electricians. It's about access to your site. The provider can only move as fast as your gate does.
Six things to have ready
- 1How many electricians, and the exact start date
- 2The site address, and who they report to when they arrive
- 3Start and finish times, and whether weekends or nights are involved
- 4The tickets and clearances your site actually requires — not a generic list
- 5The induction process and when the next one runs
- 6Expected duration, even roughly — a two-week job attracts a different person than a two-day one
With those six, a quote can be issued the same day and offers can go out to matching electricians as soon as you accept it.
How it runs with us
- 1You send us the request.
- 2We quote it in writing — rate per electrician, shift times, and any overtime or weekend rates set out up front.
- 3You accept the quote, and we go and fill it.
- 4You get the crew's details before they turn up.
We don't offer work to an electrician before you've accepted the quote. Offering a job that isn't confirmed wastes a sparky's day, and they remember.
Same-day and emergency requests
Sometimes possible, never promised. A same-day fill depends entirely on who happens to be free and inducted that morning. What you'll get from us is a straight answer quickly — including 'no' — rather than a maybe that leaves you a person short at 7am.
And when someone doesn't turn up
It happens in every labour-hire arrangement, and the honest measure of a provider is what happens next. We'd rather be working the replacement while the shift is still recoverable than explaining it to you afterwards.
